The Barton Marine boomstrut is a patented flexing spring providing a constant force for vang efficiency. With thousands sold worldwide the Boomstrut is lighter and cheaper than a gas strut as it is made up of two low-profile, flexible coated & lightweight fibreglass rods which provide the force to support the boom.
Six sizes of the Boom strut are available to suit yachts up to 12m/40ft LOA and there is no need to replace your existing hardware - the Boomstrut mounts independently inside the existing kicking strap tackle.
Pulling the boom down with a conventional kicker causes the Barton Boomstrut to flex upwards; releasing straightens the rods, thereby lifting and supporting the boom.

To eliminate drilling, the Boomstrut mast bracket can be slotted into your mast's luff groove.
The boom bracket of the Boomstrut is contoured to fit both round and flat boom profiles.
