Anchor Rode Bag

"After delaying the purchase for too long, I bought 2 of these. I have a 12 ft dinghy with a bow locker with a small opening, and I carry a Danforth anchor and a Bruce/claw type, each with chain and a decent length of line. There is a grommet for the tail end of the anchor rode to pass through the bottom of the bag so you can attach the rode to a strong point on the boat. The bag is easily big enough to take more rope than I have, several metres of chain and the anchor. The top of the bag is passively held open by a flexible rim, so it is easy to flake the rode into it and then lay the chain and anchor on top. Two stout carry handles combined with a flexible bag make it easy to get the anchor from garage to car to boat and back again, and it is somehow easier to slide the anchor into the locker in the bag than it was when it was loose. After several years making do with a bucket for the rode, I wish I had bought these bags before. My only slight reservation is how long the mesh will last, as they are subject to potential friction with the bottom boards of the boat, and snagging on sharp points of the anchor. However, at this price, if I get 3 seasons out of one, it will be money well spent. Recommended for any dinghy sailor who cruises and carries an anchor."
